    Yes Cajuns are very proud of their heritage, I believe that’s why it’s still around for so many centuries even though its culture only represents a small fraction of the country.

    We have a very distinguishable dialect and appearance. One of these days I will devote a thread to Cajun culture and phenotypes.

    Yeah but that immersion only allowed for some New World vocabulary, the La. French grammar and 18th century pronunciations (e.g., Julličte "July") being completely ignored. Folks here use SUS ("on", pronounced su) not SUR, both descended from Old French, btw.
