Somewhat unusual, because patriotism is usually tied to nationalism, which is in turn, tied to right wing attitude. However, if someone is disenchanted with the direction their country is going, it may be hard to raise your flag pole.

I think most nationalists/patriots would settle for a place that is closer to their ideas of a society in many respects, even if it's not their own country. Wether they admit it or not, it's practical thinking if they have the means to do it, because you can spend your life battling for some things that might never happens, and you can have some positive influences differently from the outside.

No, a significant portion of so-called right-wingers are fine with seeing their country overrun by foreigners, so long as they hypothetically 'share our values'. Then you have the edgy tradcaths and ted-posters who think they're above race/nationalism.

Yes it would be rare.
However, imagine you are right wing in a country full of "centrists" and leftists.
That is one potential example. There are other reasons which lower patriotism too (shit leaders, foreign background, dissident, restricted in expressing ideas). As they add on it gets harder to belong and support passionately.

Yes, one's political orientation is not always synonymous with one's intrinsic sentiments as a general outcome. The various variables in play generally leads to either a desirable or undesirable outcome. Politics and other external factors in play lead to a general outcome that determines one's internal sentiments (i.e. patriotism). Hence, political affiliations are an inevitable impetus to a general result either for better or worse.

I'm right leaning but I'm not patriotic. I don't consider my country (or its people) worth saving.
