Rather, I would say a realistic view of God - - I believe he is who he says he is in the Bible. You should read it. You realise hell exists, yes? The earthquake was caused by a sudden slip on a fault, not by your God. If you think the God would choose such way and kill innocent people only because sending a message to a fucking statesman, your God must be worse than the Devil.

I'm agnostic, but I had a religious education and I have read the New Testament several times, and I like many teachings from the Gospels. That it's not the kind of God that I learned about. For most Christians, such an idea of God would be blasphemous, because they depict Him as a merciless tyrant that kills random people as a revenge against some leader that opposes him - acting like the ancient Assyrians or the Mongols or the Nazis etc.
