One thing I noticed, with these "I'm in despair" threads, is that the poser of the OP question gets bombarded with judgmental advice. It's really easy to judge others, because we find ourselves on the attack, without having defend our own weaknesses. The advice is fine, but try coming to an understanding about the experience of the experiencer, rather than just prescribing medication.

You have an out of date thinking if you think 40 today is the same as it was in the past. It's not the same. For one thing, people are not ageing the same way and they don't have the lifestyles and they don't have the same age relativity to decline. So it seems you're stuck in the past.
