Among Arabs Ive met, including Levantines, it is widely accepted that Syrians are the whitest looking. But here, for some bizarre reason, people think that Lebanese, even Palestinians are the lightest Mideasterns. Others claim that Iranians are the same pigmentation.

Trust me many Syrians can pass as white.

I agree. They have some NW Asian-like genetic properties, just like Iranians. Look at Bashar Al Assad, for crying out loud! He even passes in N Italy/Iberia, etc.

I think Syrians resemble Turks with the difference Syrians for the most part lack the Central Asian-shifted (Turanid) types, but in general they overlap.
