The whiteness of Syrians is underestimated on this forum

I think Syrians are very heterogenous.
For example they are arabs from turkey just on the syrian border. not that "white" looking! i don't think the ones on the other side of the border will look much different!


While the ones on the coast(Hatay) are more mediterreanean

That he is "light" for northAfrican standards means Little. He would be spotted as "foreigner" in any part of Spain. With foreigner I mean either what he is or some kind of balkans people. He does not look western-southern European.

And when the ""refugee"" crisis in 2015 many of the picture where of syrians, who looked like any northafrican, equally dark and non-European.

what is the typical Syrian that you have seen. The lightest Syrians are not native Levantines. They are usually the Circassians and the Turks who migrated there in the past. So it could very well be that you have seen people who of those groups.

I think you misunderstood what I was conveying. There are ample Levantines who are light and perhaps even lighter than many Circassians and Turks. You are a good example, you are rather fair. However, IMO the average Circassian is lighter than the average Levantine. The darker types that exist among Levantines do not occur as frequently or just don't occur among them.

At any rate, Levantines are a handsome group of people and they don't need to look European to be good looking.
