Very simple. When you take a look at card first thing you notice is number of symbols (hearts, spades...). You don't look how pretty card is, but you either quickly count the number of symbols or you check number in the corners of the card. English deck has bigger numbers and more clear symbols. With Spanish deck in order to quickly inspect your card you would need to memorize which picture represent what number, its less practical.

Humm, I think it is the opposite, and this there must be because you are familiar to the English and I to the Spanish.

IMO it is fuckin the same. I even would say the English deck is more confuse, all the suits look the same. Diamonds and hearts look pretty similar. Clubs and spades look pretty similar too. Even spades and hearts do
No comment that even the colour is the same (and boring): red and black, period
