Europe Back In Lockdown Mode

As with the first set of lockdowns in the spring, the restrictions meant to curb the renewed spread of Covid-19 in Europe are happening fast and all at once.

Spain and France, where a second wave of infections spread from mid-July, led the way by imposing local lockdowns from early and mid-October, respectively. While France announced a national lockdown to start Friday, Spain’s local solution now includes several major provinces.

Germany is following these cues to lock down the country starting Nov. 2 (opting for the national route), and as Statista’s Katharina Buchholz notes, several other European countries followed suit this week – among them Poland, which explicitly does not call its new measures a lockdown while still applying all the hallmark restrictions from restaurant and school closures to cancelling cultural and other events, limiting the number of groups that can meet to five, restricting hotel access and urging people not to travel around the country.

Sorry, I don't believe that closing gyms to protect public health is a "leftist" extreme decision. Covid is deadly to old people, I have lost a good family friend to it. Even if young people aren't much affected, they can and do pass it to older people. I think that Conservatives and the Right would be more popular and successful if they stopped seeing conspiracies everywhere, from Covid to vaccines. Science is one of the biggest and unique achievements of the Western World and the White European race, and we should be proud of it. The fact that the New Left are trying to use the "science argument" for their purposes doesn't mean that science is bad and scientists are all part of a world-wide leftist conspiracy. Notice, when I talk about scientists I mean real ones, those who deal with Natural Sciences, not Sociologists, Political "scientists" and other (mostly BS) similar disciplines.

I think conspiracies and the part of conservatives promoting consipracy theories are the main reason why many of politically ambiguous people lean over to the left side. Could easily be the reason why Trump lost the elections.

The definition of a Covid death is when someone dies if they test positive for it that is a Covid death, regardless of the other significant chronic illnesses they have. It might as well be that it was an O positive blood death, if you have O positive blood.
