african americans are disconnected from reality they have a very idealistic view of africa thinking everyone there is related to each other. We see Nigerians, Ugandans and African Americans the same...madow/adoon etc. Different from Somalis. We see only Habesha, Afars, Tigrens, Oromos (Ethiopian and Eritreans) as the same as us, along with Djiboutians who are Somalis.

Sudanese, Nubians etc we see them as Black Arabs mixes. Culturally more Arab than African, but many look "blacker" than us.

East African is not a thing... Horner is a real thing, because Kenyan bantus to us are just like Nigerians African Americans etc

Regardless of what they think, West Africans have nothing in common with African Americans culturally.
