Default Strange connection between Celtic and Semitic languages

What do you make of this? Honestly this is quite a mystery to me. Could a semitic or afro-asiatic speaking people in Europe have been absorbed by the proto-Celts or proto-Gaels/Proto-Brythons?

Could be. Pre-IE Farmerians where from Near East, so it wouldn't be strange if some of them would bear a semitic language with them.
It could be also an influence of Phoenicians who sailed at least to Spain and Britain, but it is probably to small impact.

Are there many haplogroups from the near east in Ireland? I thought it was almost entirely R1b, in which case it would've been paternal Indo-European and maternal Proto-semitic. Correct me if i am wrong though

Few, but before Bellbeakers came there was more.
G was most dominant, but there were also some J, T and even E.
If they spoke semitic, and Bellbeakers (which I belive were just early
pre-hallstadt Celts) conquered them, then such influence could happen.

Yeah, Welsh and Hebrew can sound a bit alike, as can some of the folk music.

Could these pre-IE “Farmerians” explain the existence of people like Rowan Atkinson or Tom Ellis in the British Isles and Western Europe?

There is no connection, beyond coincidence or convergent evolution.
