If you could learn one secret or unknown fact about your distant ancestors, what would it be?

Just curious, but if you were given the opportunity to find out a secret, unknown fact, or even life event of your distant ancestors, what would you want to find out? I would want to know if and why my ancestors viewed their lives as a success or failure, and the biggest obstacle they encountered along the way.

I have one ancestor of mine that I am truly fascinated with. She was a mistress slave who ended up marrying my French ancestor after his wife died. They had 3 mulatto children together.. On his deathbed he took away all of her and their childrens rights and said they were property to his all white children from his previous marriage. She ended up taking it to court and won her childrens freedom but never her own so she fled to Mexico. I would love to talk to her and find out her whole story.

I got one ancestor who was quite rich for that time, and he balied out some people from his place of origins and lost large portion of his family wealth (due to their unrealiability). I just want to know why didn't he let them get executed.

When did your Jewish ancestors first settle in Denmark? I know that the first Jews who arrived were Dutch Sephardim in the early 17th century.
