    That’s what I was doing. I converted it into 23andme format using DNAGenics but somehow I didn’t get a result in James Lick…

    Very boring and common result but at least I know it now

    Unfortunately no… but some of my friends who were H (not HV) used to get further downstream… I wonder why not those who got HV get it

    Based on what I know about Y DNA, and assuming this works the same for mtDNA, I guess they don't have some of the subbranches in their database on phylotree. Another option is that your branch has mutations not registered in your raw data so you need deeper test

    The very rough results are motivated by the few mtDNA SNPs that are tested there. But you can be happy that they at AncestryDNA at all do test any mtDNA SNPs. Because it's not used for anything what they do.

    It would still be important to know the exact clade of my HV. Otherwise the test is quite useless to determine its origin. Although I think HV0 is the most plausible one giving my other results…

    If you mean autosomal results, I can tell you it doesn't have to mean anything. I got Y and mtDNA haplogroups that would place me respectfully in Romania/Ukraine and Sicily/Calabria, and autosomally I'm nowhere near.
