How did the English turn into such massive pussies?

They had a massive empire that at one point controlled the majority of the earth's landmass on each continent. All from a small island off the coast of Europe. Not to mention they still had the ability and resources to fight two huge wars on European soil.

Now what are they? Tea drinkers whose only use is to narrate documentaries. Americans are 10X harder.

They mortgaged away their empire to America to survive WW2. Literally tons of literature on this. 1956 arab israeli war was when they finally, permanently realized they're just a two bit power. Pax Britannica was long, detail-oriented and sophisticated...Pax Americana shorter and less sophisticated...what comes next will be even shorter and even less minutae oriented, as dajjalic AI will have everything run on cruise control probably.

by the time you're in your 40s, and I'm in my 50s...the average American wil llook forward to being some Sparftan type merc. or butler or personal tutor to some rich Chinese guy's brats...with a small room in the basement. Lots of nostalgic stuff, baseball cards, rap albums, etc. that the next superpower's popular culture considers 'jokey' and humorous and quaint/weird.

I always wondered how the British managed to keep such detailed notes on the demographics of all the territories they controlled. its insane

They knew all the 'nuanced' differences of each African tribe. Which ones were better soldiers, traders, ones that were cowardly vs brave... which ones responded to imprisonment vs fining etc. Meanwhile USA just blanket term "Africa" for the whole continent and wont be able to place any country on the map. No comparison.

Americans can't even locate the countries they invaded. Ask your average American where Viet Nam is on a blank map and they won't get it right.

But the CIA is another matter. They know the whole world in and out. They are the ones who run this empire behind the scenes.

CIA was a remnant of the British "Office of Strategic Services" OSS. I bet the OSS were better.

US did not colonize parts of Africa. Why would the US government want to understand the differences among tribes. And the ability of an average American citizen to pick out various countries have nothing to do with government matters or colonization.

Can Europeans find Vietnam on a blank map. How many US states can they name on a blank map. None of this had anything to do with the success or history of the British Empire.

They did though...with Economic hitmen and IMF world Bank loans, and outright military campaigns (Somalia 1992-1993 and then again during Obama's presidency)
