Default Do conservative Mennonites/Amish have an accent/dialect when speaking English?

Is it just me or do they have their own dialect what do you think?
I’m not Sure if my time stamps are working properly, the Mennonite guy speaks from 3m55s

    Amish guy speaks from
    42s

Even relatively liberal sects still carry a bit of a dialect

The Amish sound like they have a heavy Dutch/German dialect in PA. But the Mennonites I've met in Virginia sound normal.

That’s different, that dialect came from mass German immigration and was not specifically related to the Amish/Mennonites

I would really appreciate if someone outside the U.S/Canada chipped in, I wonder if they can tell the difference.

Interesting, some of those accents sound a bit British/Australian at times, more so than other Americans. Probably because they're the last holdouts of the more archaic American accents, which were more British sounding.

I never thought of them speaking with an English/Australian character. Here’s how very conservative groups that don’t interact much with the English world speak like. Do you think they still have an English/Australian intonation?

They sound just like a more Western Midwesterner. Common accent in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

Not him, he sounds heavily German.

The one in the first video sounds Australian on some words, like truth. The second guy (Fisher) sounds a bit old rural English/West Country. The old woman in the 3rd vid sounds a bit Scottish at times, but that's probably because it's Canada.
