Genetic isolation ? They are mostly Viking with Gaelic genes thrown in so rather not pure and one could argue the Gaelic genes ,in the mix, makes them lighter skinned than other Scandinavians.

True, Icelanders are well among the world blondest-haired and bluest-eyed people. Remember Finland is blonder - haired than Scandinavian countries, but not more blue - eyed rather more gray - eyed. Irish people are the fairest - complected people in the world.

That’s a myth. It’s known now that Vikings didn’t necessarily majorly have light hair and eyes that we see now, lol. Many actually had darker hair genes. In fact, most dyed their hair with something that would kill lice hence making it lighter. It is also believed that after a lot of light hair breeding took over... as more mate selection was happening this changed quite drastically.
