Shouldnt Indian ocean be better named "Somali ocean"?

Only Somalis made that ocean relevant (positively or negatively) the last decade. What has India done?

It is more a language/historical thing. I don’t know about nowadays but Chinese called it “western sea/ocean“ in Turkish we say Hint Okyanusu(Hindu(Indian) ocean), other say Hindu ocean too. Europeans called it so because the didn’t really know about geography and that there was more than India. To be honest i like this name, the name is synonymous for the exotic places like India, many islands like Madagaskar or SE-Asia.
