I'm just surprised about Trabzon. As far as I know; the paternal side is from the Balkans but there seems to be some Trabzon and even Mosul-Iraq from the paternal side.

It's also possible that some of these people were in the military and sent there to fight. It coincides with the World War, especially Mosul.

Btw; my surname contains a specific class in the military, so it's highly possible that they fought in the WW1. My genetics do not show any Arab or Levantine so the one from Mosul is probably not a local.

And one thing; one relative from Elazig seems to be 'in exile' in 1925. It's kinda interesting, and I hope it's not related to the Sheikh Said Rebellion.

Yea, some people have the same village.

Cousin marriages were kinda common in central anatolian villages in the old times.

It is still interesting. That means your ancestors loved, married, had difficult times and so on in this city. Not all Turks from Balkans are Muhajirs, btw. We do not call ourselves Muhajirs for example.

Thank god my parents are not cousins, they are not even related. That they are from the same city is just coincidence, cousin marriages were common everywhere in Turkey, from Bursa to Giresun i know cases.

I know the history of the tribes of my parents which is very interesting but sad too. But e devlet service, btw which has some mistakes, is not very interesting for me. Yes i also say here or for the context muhacir, regardless of being Turk or not all "muacirs" are my people, at least they are not coward bastards who dont even fight for their land, i just meant i dont have any relative from far away.

Yea, I'm quite mixed so there's probably not such a thing in my family as well.

Turkey is almost like America, many people of different backgrounds have gathered under a sense of Turkish identity (except Kurds).

I'm probably not genetically related to the Central Asian Turks but since I'm proudly a Turk I embrace the culture and history of Turks tracing back to Central Asia. The thing is; people need to identify with something, and since most humans are mixed and interrelated, what gathers ethnicities under one roof is a sense of common culture and history. I believe the same can be said about Hungarians. They're genetically more Central European and overlap with neighboring nations, but it's important to cherish your history and culture.

I have to say that in the 90s Turkey was in a position to move very close towards Europe. But after two decades of Erdogan, anti-European rhetoric, enmity towards some EU member states and increased Islamism, there will never be sufficient support for Turkish accession into the EU.

I think Erdogan is trying to change Turkey's image sothat the Turkish economy can stabilize. Turkey is more or less like a rogue nation right now.

I'm not surprised, almost all of them are Batum and Ahıska.
