i listened to a “friend” vent when i was a teen. i felt stressed out at the time and vented to them once. they took that opportunity to tell me i’m crazy and proceeded to tell everyone my business.

even in real life, people don’t care about damaging your stuff because it’s not theirs; as if that really is a distinction. i think treating people how you want to be treated is a very rare quality to find in people.

Yea I think also, people need to realize that people with issues especially those with emotional issues can often be manipulative and endearing. I think that it also depends on who you surround yourself with and how you present yourself. Nicer people don't have it worse they just attract people who want to victimize others.

i’m only just now realizing that it’s okay to not make excuses for someone to treat you badly. i know that sounds like common sense, but i’ve spent most of my life with people metaphorically punching me in the face and teaching me that trying to set boundaries or take actions to prevent them from doing that repeatedly made me an evil bitch.

I also dislike emotionally volatile people and I'm a guy.... I'm supposed to find it endearing in the opposite sex but I don't.

Very well put. Sadly the older people get the more baggage people will carry with them and the deeper they'll identify with their past "trauma". I put trauma in quotation marks because:
