I Love Madrid's Gran Via very much.
Each time I'm in Madrid I save an hour to have a look at it.
• There is nothing like that in Paris, London or Berlin. NOTHING can compare in the rest of Europe.
• It looks like images of Buenos Ayres.
• Behind each high rise building there are blocks made of humble two-storey houses. The contrast is nothing short of impressive.
• It's a mix-up of early 20th century, 20's, and 40's and 50's architecture — just as if the authorities wanted to make it clear that no civil war ever happened in Madrid in the 30's.
The Gran Via is sublime.

Madrid is a very clean city, especially when you compare it to Lisbon or even Paris, i think only the German and Scandinavian cities are cleaner.
