Among younger people MMA is more popular, among older generations boxing mostly. Well I'm exception to that, I prefer boxing. MMA seems too savage. But I think MMA is less affected by money and politics than boxing.
Which sport would you train? I'd like to train in either (not a very girly pursuit, heheh) but am undecided. Strictly on amateur level ofc.
Love boxing and I want to join boxing gym, but:
-I'm afraid of head shots as I injured my head heavily 10 years ago, and actually in boxing fighters suffer more damage than in MMA despite average person would think it's the opposite.
In boxing pressure is heavy on the head. Yeah, I'll be an amateur but you still spar (with helmet, but it isn't total protection) and can compete in local bouts. I'm afraid of additional nose break and things like that, which more likely in boxing.
-I think I'd do better in MMA because I have high belt in karate and have always been much better leg kicker than hand puncher. I'm also super flexible which is advantage for grappling game.
-my hands are really weak. But than again if I join boxing gym I might improve my upper body strength.
You can also comment on current boxing/mma things. Would you like to see boxer in a cage like we saw Connor in the ring?
