Default Milenko Stojković, Serb who had a harem

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milenko_Stojković

In year 1807 Serbs attacked the Turks with all their might, and in Serbian offensive Milenko took Poreč on Danube. Soon he moved there, and left his native Kličevac and his wife. Poreč became Milenko's territory where he had absolute and unlimited power.

When Serbian insurgents in late 1806 took Belgrade, in the fighting died a lot of Turks. A large number of Turkish women widows and children were hungry and forced to beg in the Belgrade streets. According to the testimony of Vuk Karadžić, they were quite numerous. When they could not take care of them, insurgents in 1807 decided to sent them in Turkey, they boarded them in two ships and sent them across the Danube for Vidin. When the ships reached Poreč, Milenko stopped them and went to inspect. He took most beautifil women, and then he let the ships to continue their jorney.

Turkish women which Milenko appropriated were not first women in his harem, because he began to create harem in Kličevac. Except Turkish women there was also Vlach women to which he took on various ways.
The custom of possession a harem was not so uncommon among Serbian insurgents. There was slaves and free women in harems. When owner of harem would be bored with some woman he would mostly find a husband for her, or sold or he would give her to someone, if women is slave. If woman is not slave owner of harem gave them freedom to do what they want.
In period of peace Milenko Stojković traveled a lot in Negotin (Timok) Krajina. He usually took a few women with him and they served him with drink, coffee and tobacco

When Milenko Stojković came into direct conflict with Karađorđe he was expelled from Serbia in 1811. In exile he saw that he cannot maintain a harem with annual income of 300 ducats which Russian government gave him. He disbanded the harem and kep only one woman, certain Katinka, whom he latter married.
