Let's get this thread rolling. I'll start . . .
I am currently eating chocolate mayonnaise cake. In the times of the Great Depression, most folk could only afford basic ingredients, such as mayonnaise. Mayonnaise was subsequently substituted for a variety of ingredients in baking, and the practice has continued on through today. I find that mayonnaise adds to the richness of a pastry; I highly recommend you try the recipe below:
