Not even Finnish history books, but also English sources tell about it. It is shame that even some educated Finns try to deny it. I understand if Russia denies this genocidal event, but ...

    Greater Wrath in Ostrobothnia
Sweden became a great power in the 17th century af-
ter long-term warfare with its neighbours. The Great
Northern War started in 1700 as a protest against Swe-
den’s power politics. The Russian occupation of Finland
in 1713–1721 is called the Greater Wrath. After the Battle
of Napo, Peter the Great ordered the Cossack troops to
terrorise the locals. Men were killed, villages destroyed
and women and children taken as slaves to Russia.

New research estimates that near 20000 civilians were killed and near 30000 women and children were slaved and moved to Russia, all this mostly in Ostrobothnia. The population was around 400000, so this can be called genocidal. Thousands escaped over the sea to Sweden, most of them never came back. Have we a fifth column making opposite propaganda?
