Most "Foreign" Region Within Your Country to You

Within your own native country, what region feels the most different/alien/closest to being a different nation? Not counting ethnic minorities or whatnot, but cultures, people (of your same said ethinic group), customs that seem to you as if it/they belong elsewhere.

Finnmark. They have some influence from Sami culture, but the main thing that sets them apart is the weather. Almost no "summer culture", meaning tanning, chilling in a park, grilling and svimming outside cuz almost no summer. They don't have the same kind of transportation system so a lot of them (sorta like some rural US areas) take for granted that if you don't have a car, you can't reach a lot of places. The schools there are far less numerous and classrooms with 10 or less pupils are normal, in Oslo, you'd be hard-pressed to find ones with less than 25. A lot less "globalist" influence in terms of clothing stores, fast food restaurants and restaurants, pubs, clubs etc. More of a strong local culture.

West Wales, where Cymraeg still predominates (a good thing btw), the Scottish Highlands and Northern Ireland (extreme sectarian culture).

Higüey, on the far Eastern tip of Hispaniola. Touristic all inclusive mini-forbidden cities galore (with their attendant Euro/Canuck/Yank expat populations) plus the Haitians still serving the sugar industry.

Probably Gagauzia, although I haven't been there, so there's a chance that the cultural difference is not as big as I imagine.

Western Istria. Doesn't feels like Croatia at all but Italy. Also oldy flat and spacious compared to most of our Adriatic coast.
