Most "Foreign" Region Within Your Country to You

Apart from the more obvious urban-rural divide, there are slight differences between Australians from the Southern states (VIC, SA, TAS) and the Northern states (NSW, QLD). The Northern states are traditionally Rugby League following and the Southern states traditionally Aussie Rules following. Also the Northern states have better beaches, surf culture, and (sub)tropical weather.

Corsica, of course.
This island is impossibly beautiful.
Nothing in the Mediterranean region can compare to it.
I am very proud that this gem belongs to France.

But each time I'm there (I've been many times), I have that strange lingering feeling: I don't feel legitimate here.

The whole southwestern US including California as well as Hawaii and southern Florida. To some extent NYC.

I don't divide them regionally but politically; the places that vote for the current ruling party in large amounts are the most alien to me. The ones that do not are close to me. They can be from any region.
