Male vs female VOCAL RANGE thread

Why are men capable of hitting high notes (falsettos) and women are not capable of doing reverse? That means, hitting the low notes.
There are exceptions e.g. Nina Hagen, but sadly I wasn't as a woman able to develop the ability to hit the low notes. Even somebody classified me as a lyric soprano, right.

EDIT: Here is a sample of my vocal range (not quite good, because I don't want to annoy my neighbors). I suppose it's E3-G6. I didn't have much vocal training (I really doubt vocal coaches over here would know how to train my low register).

It depends on the instrument. The lower notes counts as part of the register(except vocal fry), while falsetto(false voice) not. It's easier to fake your voice(falsetto) than to sing low notes in chest. A Soprano usable range is about B3-C6, while a Mezzo-Soprano G3-Bb5.
Nina Hagen is a Contralto who pushed her voice too much. A great example is Ewa Podles, true Dramatic Contralto. She sung a live Bb2.

We have a small mini community of singers here, on the forum, so I think it's a good question to post.

To answer your question, I think some woman can go pretty low, but it frequently seems to be more of a quiet and whispery kind of low. The singer Jewel often does this.
