Word of advice, don't be a slave of fear. Listen to it, but don't let it to enslave you. Try to expose yourself to people little by little and in doing so you'll built courage and comfort around others.

I had a bunch of bad experiences with very close people, or at least people who I thought they were honest and loyal.

I fear the stupidity of people as it can be a devastating factor when they are in large groups.

Yes, I've mistaken bad people for good people, and many friends I once trusted in real life lied to me or backstabbed me. I definitely have social anxiety and keep my social circle to a minimum now. I'm trying to open up more again now.
