Im going to a monastery as guest

I dont know when though, because they said I need to be patient because of Corona. But they admitted me as guest on a period of time. They said I can come as guest. I guess most people can come as guests though. But I think the experience will enrich me. https://www.stift-heiligenkreuz.org/

Im still doing it, but when I finish it I dont have a diploma but only a certificate and I cannot be priest. I want to be monk and priest though. The guy I wrote on this monstary said "a spiritual calling is a big thing" "only god can grant a spiritual calling not we ourselfes" but he said i can come as guest, and he would talk to me, and god will show the way. I would like to become monk and study there. But If I dont Im still doing this distance theology course.

I find it absurd people have to pay for schooling to become a priest. What do people give the church all that money for? Just become a protestant you don't need anything but love for God to become a preacher and if you wan't a degree at least you can get married in the end.

to be in this monastery is for free, but you need to work there. you are there and you work but you dont need to pay.

If you want to be priest yes, but Im just guest first. My time as guest is free, but I work, in the garden in the library etc. and it is for free. But if I want to be priest and monk I need to study, i dont know how much that costs though and how you can finance it. But not only theology costs money, every studies do. I dont blame them at all.

Apparently all you need is a bachelors degree, it doesn't matter what it's in.

Im not sure, what type of guest I am but there is a type of guest, who lives there for a while and participates in all things the monks do and he works also I dont know what type of guest I will be. https://www.stift-heiligenkreuz.org/...st-im-kloster/

This kind of language strikes me as rather exclusive thing to suggest to an early believer/seeker, and I'd perhaps say it introduces a cult-like/controlling sense to the picture you are describing, Mort. The statement might be true, but it might not be. By saying "only god can grant a spiritual calling" is like saying there is a possibility God may decide to maybe not open the door to you. I hope you don't mind my input, I've just "been through the machine" with these sorts of things in my own personal experience, and so am sensitive to people misguiding others in these sorts of situations.
