I think the biggest problem is that Brazil implements things too quickly without a plan for the future. They have probably triple the resources, population density and about 100,000,000 less people than America so they shouldn't be in the situation they are in.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

Brazil and USA had different pasts

USA received at least 10 times more European immigrants than Brazil.

USA has more fertile lands and has become the largest economy in the world selling wheat to Europe in a food crisis and war. Almost in the same period Argentina was the 5th richest country in the world also selling wheat, meat and wool to Europe. Brazil only exported sugar and coffee.

The roller coasters are easy to understand with the alignment of Latin America to the West and not the USSR, it could borrow from the IMF and had good economic growth. , (largest hydroelectric plant in the world, largest manufacturer of ships in the world, founded Embraer, etc.) with the loan comes high inflation ( is not internal work money) and then you have to pay interest and debt and there will be a drop in economic growth or crisis. Brazil paid the debt, but it is growing slowly. Argentina is already in the 4th default on the IMF.

Although they only show poor people in Brazil, it is the 9th richest country in the world. (But the USA has a per capita income 2.5 X PPP equivalent than Brazil). Argentina in the 60/70 decade had 75% of the US per capita income.

Yes, countries like Argentina, Cuba, Venezuela and Brazil had thousands of reasons to be much better than they are. I would say these latino nations are extremely unlucky and mostly of the time are trying self destruction.

I am surprised Argentina hasn't bounced back by now.

Argentines are civilized and more intelligent than the Brazilian average. But your policy sucks.
Argentina is very economically linked to Brazil with Bolsonaro approach to Trump/USA he started talking about Argentina too...
