Sometimes I will write in this topic on the history and ethnography of this region. Mostly about the Perm Region. I will be glad if someone find something interesting for themselves.



On the picture kids from Polozovo (Bolshaya Sosnova district of Perm Krai). Settlement that was founded in the result of migration of russian people from Vyatka region on the lands populated by udmurts. My grandfather was born there and the boy on the photo is my relative.

Polozovo was small settlement but had some notable people born there due to rather wealthy life.

capitain Panteleymon Vdovin

Was wounded during WW1. During Russian Civil War he took part in Izhevsk - Votkinsk Anti-bolshevik uprising on the territory of of Perm krai and Udmurtia as many Polozovo people whom life was connected with Votkinsk factory. Died in 1948 in China. Many of such people from Polozovo ended their lifes in China, Australia, Brazil. Majority of members in veteran post war organization in California were of Polozovo descent.

Inhabitants of Kylosovo (Kungur district of Perm krai) 1910. Mostly of Vyatka russians origin too.





I know the descendant of this blind person. He said that his greatgrandfather became blind at Kungur fair after drink of methyl instead of vodka.

Komi peasants of Verkh-Yazvinsk volost of Cherdyn uyezd in "luzan" (now Krasnovishersk district of Perm Krai). 1901.

The most interesting word in the description of this photo is “luzan".

Luzan is a special sleeveless cape worn by hunters of the north of European Russia (in the Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Vyatka, Perm provinces). Luzans were made from seal skins, home-made cloth of gray, gray with white stripes, white colors.
Usually, two large pockets were sewn to the inside of the pocket from the front and back. Hunters put game, skins of killed animals and various hunting accessories in them.
