I think it really boils down to the Id (lizard brain, Super Ego (our learned norms), ego and conditioning. I would say our ego mostly analyzes our simplistic lizard brain impulses like breeding, threats to our domain etc. But the ego also serves to construct a mental profile of our analyzed data into our introspective thoughts and personality. Mixed with norms of our culture this can become toxic given the right circumstances. I would say that healthy incels (not disabled people) often grow up with an idealized view on relationships and sex. The real world is however much different and primal; not everyone has a high i.q or good ideals, nobody is perfect.

So when these idealized people start facing competition from other males, their own desire to reproduce, feel accomplished and dominate (Id). the reality and imperfect nature of humans and society (super ego) and their ego analyzation process and their ego personality/inner dialogue goes off the rail.

My reply to Metal is pretty much the same for this except social anxiety imo instead is a conditioning of our fight or flight from improper ego analyzation. When we are scared to talk in public for instance our lizard brain first tells us that we are seeking out social interaction, it's a potential threat to us in some way and we need to fight through it and dominate or run. Our ego takes that simplistic info and says okay, am I good enough to fight, if I suck at fighting will people judge me or not like me etc. Then we draw from our super ego, is this fight moral, is this normal, etc. Then we cross process all of that information subconsciously back in our ego.

The key is to condition your ego to analyze the information correctly, to turn down the volume on unnecessary questions from the ego and to recognize the cycle of information.

I am a healthy human with Body Dysmorphia. Living hell... sometimes I feel like the hottest guy in the world than other times I wanna end it all over my face. Crying over how I look is not how anyone should spend their time regardless of how they turned out. I can wish I had a more fulfilling childhood with good friends and no bullying, and I probably wouldn't have this mental disorder... but gotta look at the bright side. So far, I have been making loads of improvements... the GYM has helped me so much to get my mind off things and get strong and reading interesting books too.

I have the same thing and preach it man, its very hard and annoying, u almost feel bipolar on how much your perception of yourself can change so suddenly, and its also something so hard to open up about since people dont know how much the perception changes in your head, and I get it, its very hard to imagine it, I also dont want people to know I have this disorder bcs I dont want anyone to exploit against me either. Its nice to see someone that goes through the same thing as me (Not that I am glad that u have it, obviously not, but u know what I mean), specially a person who is as good looking as u, makes me feel not as messed up. I am also glad u are getting better.

I don't have a thesis or any thorough research on inceldom, but I would like to share my experience with some of these types.

Personally, as someone with BDD I have been pushed into the black pill community before seeking reassurance and guidance... just to be called ugly "subhuman" by incel, trolls. And ik I'm not that bad looking, they just do it because their standard is fucking ridiculous for beauty... even if you are an attractive guy they may still beat you down when you're already on the ground. In a way, you can say that could of made me feel like an incel in that I would never have love in my life, or girls attention b/c of my looks... however, I would be a fake one at that... as I never would hate the world b/c of how I looked, lol. I banned myself from every lookism site and never looked back. But outside of my experience, any similar insecure user (like myself) getting this treatment could turn to inceldom as a way to express their mental hate towards themself and it in turn can project into society as a whole, and how the world isn't fair with girls only liking "chads" and all that jazz. However, often it is more complicated than some insecure guy getting stuck in incel ideas and is due to real rejection, and isolation which is never resolved. But anyway, I worked on myself and knew life isn't all ab looks, I wanted to become a confident guy and essentially fix my mental issue. Which reminds me, so-called incels are so mentally ingrained in their ideas they have a tough time accepting society. This is why they outcast themselves and rot... when they have the capabilities of going into the world and reshaping their lives.

I have ADHD and kind of a bad anxiety Disorder that branches into many different thing, which gives me really bad phobias, anger problems, hard time socializing, concentrating, motivation, panic and anxiety attacks, paranoia attacks or episodes and just never having a sense of peace and tranquility, I just overthink everything and I feel like I am always over the edge, worrying about something, it can also make u very insecure from time to time in many aspects, not just physical. It can suck sometimes but I am also very grateful that its not something worse, and that I can live my life relatively normally.
