Default Brain derived neurothropic factor gene snps. What you have on these.

"Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), or abrineurin,[5] is a protein[6] that, in humans, is encoded by the BDNF gene.[7][8] BDNF is a member of the neurotrophin family of growth factors, which are related to the canonical nerve growth factor. Neurotrophic factors are found in the brain and the periphery." Wiki

So this is an important gene for human mental health.

rs6265: This is the most commonly represented snp. C=Normal. Most common in Europeans, Africans. More BDNF production.

Further description T= More common in Asians, more introverted. Etc. see below..

You seem to have the minor allele which is present in around 30% of the european sample of snpedia. There is no clinical significance, you have somewhat less of the enzyme. Its actually decreases the chance of major depression to mention one.

That's good to hear, lol. Why did you decide to ask people this? I note that you've been interested in asking a lot of snp info lately. Where do you think the T originates from in Europeans, and do we know what populations of them have the most? It seems like pure T/T is incredibly rare at less than 7% of the global population.

Yes double T is indeed very rare. It seems to peak in east asians. I have no idea where it would be the most common, snpedia's european samples are mostly of north western european american origin. It has to do something with evolutional development. Iam pretty fascinated with genetics lately, of what each population has as common, or different, and why. I like to search on mental and physical characteristics and fitness genes the most.
