Kurds can easily be more central asian or turanid looking than any of their neighbor populations

In some cases maybe admixture with Turkmen but in other cases i think it’s older (probably scythian and medieval Turkic related) because these kurd phenotypes are also found in non Turkmen areas also.

Indeed some Kurds can look very Central(or even East) Asian due to some Turkic(mostly Oghuz/Turkmen) ancestry in several Kurdish individuals. For example; my ex classmate & (now) close friend from Ağrı, Eastern Turkey. I've never thought she is Kurdish until she told about it, but her twin sister can pass as both ethnic Turk or Kurd

I guess Turanid-looking Kurds from non-Turkmen areas have ancient(either medieval or older) Turkmen/Oghuz ancestry. Also no matter how much do generations mix, some genes can come out again (after generations). For example; even if a grey-eyed man marries a brown-eyed woman and his children & grandchildren does so, the great-grandchildren may have grey eyes too

True, phenotype genes are not as susceptible to genetic drift as some of the autosomal junk Dna.so some of these central asian kurd phenotypes are due to older genes which don’t show up on admixture calculators but do show up in formal stats

The b/w photo of my kurdish cousin (4gp kurds) i posted is an example like your classmates. His brothers and sisters all look different from each other. One looks Russian/slavic, the others various types of Iranic

I had thought Kurds are 100% Caucasoid before seeing their Gedmatch(it is still a lot better than many calculators and Dodecad k12b & Harappaworld are best for Kurds) results. And it seems their non-Caucasoid admixtures are mainly 1%-4% South Asian + 2%-5% Mongoloid.

Kurdish people can be very diverse sometimes. Even in my ex class(which 75% of them were Kurdish), there were both blond & blue/green-eyed individuals and brunette ones, even there was an East Asian looking girl that I've talked about before. But generally Kurdish people at my background are brunette with dark hair & eyes. And for the skin colour, it can be said they are 40/40 brunette & wheat skinned, the rest have white skin. Even ethnic Turkish people have 50% wheat + 35% white + 15% brunette skin colours. Of course these are my own observations, so they may be wrong
