The Definition Of Incanrantion

I want clarification on the term, Incarnation. Like, what does it means by the phrase, incarnations of a particular X or Y? I mean, Jesus Christ for example is called the incarnation of god in human flesh, but, um, does it mean that he's a spiritual descent of God, or was he a person that is both God and his own separate entity as a man at the same time? Like, I've seen in some fictional stories where a group of people are incarnation of a deity or something, but I don't understand that if it meant that they're separate entities that the deity is living or existing within them or..?

You can't change your nature - you are what you are!
Besides, I doubt there is such a thing as a disembodied soul.
