Now my father and I believe that from spirits it is best to drink vodka (a pure product, minimal side effects, compatible with almost any food) and whiskey (made from grains, a weak hangover, there is no vanilla smell like in cognac). Any fruit distillate is poorly tolerated by me. Of the light drinks, beer or cider is best for me.
I have never had a good drunk on wine, it always feels dirty and shitty.

Rum & Beer. I consider wine as a very soft drink at the same level as juice (thats what basically it is tho) even if it has alcohol.

    Personal favourite:

Honourable mention to Flor de caña, very expensive tho.

I just don't get the point of wine, it's just bitter and not "fruity" at all even the ones who say they really are. I guess it's a matter of getting used to it, like beer
Also, I've never drinked whisky on its own, always mixed with coke
But basically, when it comes to alcohol I mostly prefer distilled rather than brewed

I don’t drink as much anymore but Rum or Jack & Coke was my go to.
I never drank whiskey straight and wine has never been my favorite

I go against the mainstream and have to say wine. I consume wine more often, and for regular consumption like a little wine here and there, but whiskey only on certain ocasssions, and very few and very rare but it doesnt mean I do not like it. But wine is my regular drink.

Here is me before the corona lockdown of gastronomy with a whiskey and cigar

I don't agree. Wine tastes fruity. Red wine usually tastes like berries and whites like citrus, rarely apples etc. It depends of type and production process.

I have some whiskey in my basement. Thanks for the idea, pal.
