Interesting. I saw that in Upland Southern Whites, the closest GEDMATCH matches were with SW English. I thought the Upland South such as Tennessee, Arkansas and Kentucky were inhabited mainly by Ulster Scots, while the Deep South such as Alabama and Louisiana were inhabited by Cavaliers from Southwest England. Or is all of the South now a blend of Ulster Scots and SW Anglos?

What method did they use to collect those regional samples and were they scientific ? Also, how scientific is GEDmatch in general ? GEDmatch gives me different results depending on the calculator I get either English, Irish, Dutch, Scottish etc... GEDmatch is amateur trash just like G25 even if we narrow it down to just Eurogenes K13 and Eurogenes K15 then Eurogenes K13 and Eurogenes K15 give me significantly different results -- K13 Irish and K15 SW English. Furthermore, K13 was ostensibly made for Europeans mixed with Asians or Asiatics and K15 for Europeans mixed with Amerindians etc... but that is not even what it is used for and most people don't even know this.

Collected GEDmatch averages are not a reliable guide to the ancestry of those states, for one thing the old British Isles references were not very representative.

Reported Scots-Irish ancestry by area. I'd guess most districts besides those that are darkest red would be more of a mix of English and Scots-Irish, or mostly English.
