Den danske fregat Niels Juel skal deltage i beskyttelsen af en fransk hangarskibsgruppe. Det sker på invitation fra Frankrig selv og er udover et skulderklap til Forsvaret også en mulighed for at træne i en unik sømilitær operation og få erfaringer med EH101 Merlin helikopteren.

Niels Juel var i juni 2020 i Arktis for første gang, og det er kun anden gang, at en af Forsvarets fregatter opererer ved Grønland og Færøerne under Arktisk Kommando. Indsættelsen af fregatter er et led i et større fokus på det arktiske område, da de er større og har mere kapacitet end de inspektionsskibe og -fartøjer, der normalt opererer i området.

Glostrup Kommune is a suburban municipality (Danish kommune) and town in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) approx. 10 km west of Copenhagen in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 13.31 km², and has a total population of 22,151 (1 April 2014). Its Zip code (Postnummer) is 2600. Its mayor as of 2010 is John Engelhardt, a member of the Liberal Party (Venstre) political party. The municipality was established in 1841 following the municipal reforms of the 1840s, ranking as a parish municipality (sognekommune) until 1950 when suburbanisation of Copenhagen inhabited the municipality and the status was changed to town municipality (købstadskommune). From 1947 to 1960 the population in the municipality doubled due to the expanding suburbs of Copenhagen, reaching the municipality in the post-war period. Travelogue showing the wonders of Copenhagen, Denmark. Lots of nice footage of a boat trip through the city with a girl in a great shiny red PVC coat giving a guided tour. Various shots of local Copenhagen women working on the dockside on stalls selling fish. The women prepare the fish for sale. Various landmarks are seen then a pavement cafe, the Tivoli Gardens (including views from the crazy big wheel), various fairground rides, Copenhagen Zoo etc. Shots of the Little Mermaid statue. Hydrofoil zooms past. Interior of the hydrofoil - looks like a fairly rocky ride. They are headed for Sweden. Yachting off Elsinore. Hamlet's Castle at Elsinore (?). Various shots of the castle and views of the harbour. Tram ride through Copenhagen and more scenic shots of landmark. Family are served lunch at a pavement cafe. Hot sausage stall - group of women dip sausages in mustard. Traffic policeman directs cars and many people cycle past. Postmen in bright red jackets are seen cycling through the streets. Cycle race at a professional racing track. The Danes are racing against the World Champions - the Russian Olympic Team. Various shots of the race and then a tandem race. The Tivoli Guard and the King's Guard on parade at the Royal Castle. Night shots of Copenhagen - bright lights and decorations at the Tivoli Gardens. Fireworks. European route E47 is a road (part of the United Nations international E-road network) connecting Lübeck in Germany to Helsingborg in Sweden via the Danish capital, Copenhagen. It is also known as the Vogelfluglinie and the Sydmotorvej. The road is of motorway standard all the way except for 28 km (17 mi) in Germany and 6 km (4 miles) of city roads in Helsingør; there are also two ferry connections. A fixed link between Germany and Denmark was planned to have been completed by the year 2020, now delayed to 2028. It will be a tunnel rather than a bridge.[1] Although a bridge-tunnel combination (the Øresund Bridge) has been constructed between Denmark and Sweden further south, a very frequent ferry service continues to operate between Helsingør in Denmark and the northern terminus of the E47 at Helsingborg in Sweden. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europ...

Copenhagen just keeps finding fun ways to make it easier to bike - and more convenient. I was able to take a nice tour with Mikael Collville-Andersen and see some new innovations that have happened since I was in Copenhagen 4 years ago. First off, if you've seen my Streetfilm from the Velo City Conference 2010 (yes, feel free to watch again here) the busiest bicycle street in the world has changed! Now the Knippelsbro Bridge boasts 40,700 riders per day! And speaking of bridges, Copenhagen is building SIX new bike/ped only bridges to help its citizens get around easier. Last month another cool bridge debuted - the Cykelslangen "Cycle Snake" or "The Snake". You'll see lots of footage as we travelled back and forth over it. It is truly a work of beauty and the riding is incredibly smooth. Even going uphill seems pretty easy! You'll see lots of other things that will make you happy (or angry your city isn't doing it!) Including waste baskets angled for cyclists, LED lights that indicate whether riders have to speed up to catch the green wave, and a cool treatment for cobblestone streets that helps make biking easier.
