The General Staff was ready to receive 80 M1117 from Germany that are already in full operational condition, however, the COVID-19 pandemic put a brake on their arrival to Greece.

The General Staff, however, is optimistic that the process will be unblocked and the first M1117s will arrive in Greece in this month, while a Greek mission will go to the US at the first opportunity where it will select more than 1,000 armor from the their stock.



At the same time, one of the weapon systems for which the General Staff of the Army has expressed intense interest is the Israeli anti-tank missiles Spike, with Greece being interested in the newer version, the Spike NLOS.

This is a multi-purpose weapon and not only anti-tank, which changes the balance due to its long range.



Quietly, with absolute professionalism and admirable composure, the Armed Forces have managed to not only dominate the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean against the brazen and provocative Turks, but also to cause them a nervous breakdown.

The armament reinforcement of the three Branches of the military will make Greece even stronger in an area that literally smells of gunpowder and at the same time will force the Turks to… reconsider attacking.

Anyway a war between NATO members is very possible because it will not be a war at all. It will resemble the Cyprus scenario from the 70s - a proxy war that will involve agents and mercenaries. The two countries will claim they have nothing to with it but in the end will capitalize on whatever achievements their puppet will make for them.

Mercenary forces are not accountable in front of both NATO and the Geneva convention since they are not a standing army of a nation, and "lending" them weapons and equipment is not against any NATO directive either. A very clever exploit. The USA used it very well around the globe.

Umm... Are you aware that Turkey is one of the few military drone manufacturing and exporting countries? you've already lost a round of wars against Turkey in conventional ways, and if the next one is going to happen, it's not gonna happent in an old school way. Remember that the Armenian army was grounded just with a bunch of drone strikes? Turkey did not even send tanks and men to the war, just drones. Azerbaijan primarily used drones from Turkey and Israel rather than manpower and tanks. And see how that turned out. The Armenian PM had to submit after figuring out that there was nothing else he could do.

The future wars will feature digital technology, robots and not men on the frontlines. So, even if a war erupts; you'll first face a lot of unmanned vehicles before it even comes to tanks, warships and armed men. So your soldiers' lives will be on the line against just machines.

Anyways; I'm not a warmonger like the freak OP. I don't want a war to erupt and I don't want Turkey to get involved in any wars unless for the defense of the homeland and its compatriots. Atatürk, whose life was mostly spent on battlefields, indoctrinated the youth that peace is a must, and wars are nothing but mass murders except for self-defense. I don't have anything against Greece and Greeks, and all kinds of political disputes do not have to lead to a war.
