I've always been uncertain because it's such a complicated subject when you involve people.

In cases of terminal disease with a very solid prognosis, I would be more inclined to agree. However, if a person has a mental disease and claims that they are suffering, it gets really tricky, because it's not as objective.

More and more jurisdictions are considering it these days Hopefully not to reduce the costs of care of their ageing populations!

I support it. I think that it is everyone´s personal thing to decide if he / she wants to live or die.

If there is not euthanasia, those people attempt suicides. Better to do it in a controlled way.

I've spent 7 months with my mother at home and hospitals being terminally ill with colon cancer with metastasis back in 2018. I remember doctors telling me "why do you come to hospital again, you know she would die?" It's a passive euthanasia. I normally can't imagine leaving everything like it is to make it "faster" not even mentioning killing a person on purpose or throwing away a person to hospice to make life easier. That's the same logics of people who make or support abortions, life should be "easier".

    I'm sorry for your mum.

It's supposed to be the person's decision, but I can see what you mean. Some people might feel a burden to their family or do it because they think nothing else will help.

    Yes, but under strict conditions:

    - The patient must be totally mentally lucid.
    - The patient's condition is terminal and incurable.
    - The agreement must be signed under the witness of two relatives and two doctors to minimise abuse by any individual party.

Nine out of ten concerns are completely unfounded.
