American Greatness has reported on the harsh conditions in the (Washington,) D.C jail (where the January 6th protesters are being held), including incidents of abuse and unconstitutional violations of due process.

Every night at 9 p.m., according to a relative of one of the detainees, they sing the national anthem. This is a way to keep spirits up among men who have been in jail for months and may not have their day in court until sometime next year.

Hodgkins was recently sentenced to 8 months in federal prison; the only things that he actually did were to trespass inside the U.S. Capitol, and take a selfie while he was there. Worse than this miscarriage of justice is the despicable attempt by the prosecutor in the case to label Hodgkins – who has no criminal record and was accused of no violent crime – a terrorist.

As journalist Michael Tracey recently wrote, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Mona Sedky suggested Hodgkins was a 'terrorist' in the court proceedings not for committing any terrorist act, not for any act of violence, not even for imagining a terrorist act.

Sedky wrote in her sentencing memo, 'the Government…recognizes that Hodgkins did not personally engage in or espouse violence or property destruction.' She added, 'we concede that Mr. Hodgkins himself is not under the legal definition a domestic terrorist.'

Yet Hodgkins should be considered a terrorist because the actions he took – entering the Senate to take a photo of himself – occurred during an event that the court is 'framing…in the context of terrorism.'

At least 4 police officers who were involved in the January 6th DC Capitol riot response have been suicided in suspicious circumstances.

Two Washington, DC police officers who took part in the response to the riot in the US Capitol have taken their own lives, their department confirmed, bringing the total number of police suicides in the wake of the unrest to four.

Never in a million years did I think I’d be writing this type of letter in the United States of America. I know a little about how you must be feeling and now I understand the hopelessness of those back home not being able to help their loved ones.

The only way my cellmates and I made it out of Hanoi Hilton was due to our faith in God and each other. We were determined to 'Return with Honor' because of our love for our country and our flag. While we were on foreign soil and you all are on American soil, the sentiment still holds true.

As a Veteran, you know what it is like to fight – only now this fight is for your spirit – your sanity – your dignity.

I heard that at 9 pm each night, the 'DC Political Prisoners' would begin singing the National Anthem. Oh, how I hope this is true.
There is finally a push to wake people up to the horrendous treatment you all are going through. I am at a loss for words to think that this is going on in my homeland – my country.

Keep the faith and don’t let them rob you of your spirit. A lot of people are pulling for you and working to right this wrong. GBU
