Default Almost 7 years since the dombass war start

The intensity of the fight decrease since the last ceasefire. But it seems it's another cold conflict without ending.

The post communist Russia want to control this area again for imperialist reasons, but the ukrainians were stupid to belive in EU + american liar promises because they didn't defend Ukraine. USA was very pacifist with Trump, and the EU leader Merkel (because the real capitol of EU is Berlin called Reichstag, not Brussels) is too libtard and coward to send any help to Ukraine. So this situation is sucks, ukrainians are weak to defend themselves from Russia, the USA has own problems, the EU don't want to support any country who is at war because they are cowards and Ukraine will be poorer and poorer in an endless war.

But what's the main interest here? I mean, does Russia really want to advance deep into Ukraine and even annex it or it's just a fight for the Eastern part of Ukraine where ethnic Russians live? Even so, why do Russians immediately decided to rebel against Ukraine following the annexation of Crimea? Annexing Donetsk for example, what would bring to Russia? If that's what Russia wants, why Ukraine is risking its presence by not releasing the regions where ethnic Russians are already the majority?

I'm just trying to understand the reasons from an objective perspective, from an untrained eye this conflict looks very baseless.

Like Kaspias, I wonder if russia really want to annex eastern ukraine.
I always read that Putin would prefer keep Dombass and donetsk inside Ukraine to keep an influence on the ukrainian government by the russian speaking population living there.

Crimea have been take with almost no deaths but it would be clearly something else in eastearn part.

Russia wants influence in post- Soviet countries. It's very unlikely annexation of other regions

What conclusion is foreseen for the Novorossiya then? Something like Transnistria?

In addition to geopolitical significance, there is another simple meaning - for the sake of freeing the Russian people who are in the occupation now.
Here is one of the long-term plans:
