Default How do you identify the French people?

France is a country with Latin, Celtic and Germanic influences. Yes, they speak a Latin language but which influence do you think they have the most? (life style, culture, genetics etc.) I am especially curious about the opinions of the French members.

Forget what's in the title because there are people here who don't know how to read properly. I only ask you one question:

WHICH ETHNO INFLUENCE MORE IN FRANCE?

The French are a mixed people in the North and West and are mainly Germanic. The South are mainly Latins. A lot of mixture going on.

The Celtic element is the dominant one by far. French are mostly Celts who speak a Romance language and cook good food.

France is, in summa, a melting pot of all three. Specifically, it varies, depending on the region and object of interest (i.e. the public administration is quite efficient, differently than the Latin countries).

Simplifying, we can establish that the dominant element it the Celtic.

    French.

Why do people always feel it necessary to equate modern nations with ancient ethno-linguistic groups? They are a hybrid, like most nations.
