We have Komiti and Vojvodi that participated in ASNOM and became part of the ruling class in R. Macedonia. This meant the full support of Macedonism. I think we should be elavating such people to hero status.

Interesting how noone in North Macedonia knows about him and many others like him. They do remember the "bugarski fasistki okupator" as the biggest enemy, but are silent about the murders of VMRO members during Yugoslavia.

Big part of those Komiti and Voyvodi who participated in ASNOM were either killed or sent to camps as Bugarashi or emigrated to Bulgaria. Their "communist ideal" wasn't what they expected. Only the biggest rats survived.

Those who were invited to build your country (and actually remained) were obviously highly educated. Mostly very poor villagers with some failed former VMRO members for colour. This is obviously the reason why you have had funny names all those years - FYROM, North Macedonia...

As a result, today Bulgaria is much better than all Yugoslav republics, except Slovenia and probably Croatia. So you weren't so advanced and you being in Australia speaks enough.

Anyway, those Macedonians who decided to emigrate in Bulgaria had a normal life and preserved their identity. While those in Macedonia got high positions while creating mini Serbia out of Macedonia - something that our ancestors fought against.

But as I said in some other thread - northmacedonians have the typical mentality of the traitor. In this sense, they share this with Pomaks, Gorani, Bosniaks. Changing identity or religion for benefication and "high positions". With such a base of your new nation, surely a bright future awaits you.

Btw, an example of the strenght of the Macedonian identity is the name change to North Macedonia. You gave up "your" antiquity in order to enter NATO and later, eventually, to take the last place in the Eu from Bulgaria.

Hah Bulgaria looks like one more ex-Soviet republic for me in comparsion with Serbia where I spent years. It's not about average salary etc but about mentality of people and the way for example the villages and cities look like.
