Brilliant map again, would be great if we can get one of Denmark and see if it is even lighter than S Holstein.

    Full HD version:

Sorry to say but they should use at least one year not range from 6 to 14. Look how in Poland blond hair (and A-L is very strict range of blond shades, without dark blonde, here on the map I guess it is A-P) falls dramatically depending on age. I guess in Germany we have nearly similar process.

Yeah I agree it would be better f it was for adults only or only one year, but it's still valuable for comparing relative differences between regions.

Based on children = Useless. I was a blonde all my childhood and in adulthood I have dark brown hair. Furthermore; in childhood the process of melanogenesis is not mature.

It's not useless for comparing different German regions.

It does not even specify what is considered 'blonde' or not. And my brother who had brown / copper hair most of his childhood ended up with an average blond in adulthood. Children are not really good bases.

It is specified. One example of your brother does not prove anything. There is definitely a strong correlation between blondeness of children and blondness of adolescents and even adults.

Now you are giving Germany such a high figure for light eyes. I would not go over 70% for the entire Germany. Anyway fair enough. However for the British Isles’ countries you aren’t. You could be showing some bias. The reason why I said, is because John Gray who did his survey on Scotland recognizes that Germany is significantly darker - eyed than Scotland. So if you are setting the entire Germany at 72.something %, then Scotland is 80 something % light - eyed. Something I already knew.

I didn't give Germany a figure of 72,7% it was Rudolf Virchow.
