Default Why aren't Polish people abroad influential?

This is a serious question, i've been wondering about all the time. How is it possible that Jews (some of them, Polish Jews), Germans, Italians, Irish, English have such strong influence though music, art, books, movies, science and Polish people don't?

Different type of mentality, they rather get a random job to live a secured life even if it doesn't pay the best. I guess they don't like to risk that much?

Geez, you are probably right. There is some change needed. But well, communism and shit.
Polish people seriously have some kind of Stockholm syndrome... as a patriot, I'm concerned about it...

I don't think you can change peoples mind in this, this is like forcing people to like some kind of fruit, someone just doesn't like risking. Even for me it's more comfortable to work for someone rather than open a bussiness. It's less stressfull, the thing is those Polish people who moved abroad were mostly with no higher education background so they ended up working not the best jobs.

I understand that, but for a very long time, Polish people had a 10 million US diaspora, pretty big diaspora in Canada, Australia, UK, yet this nation has not realized its potential and didn't contribute much.
I wonder what might be a reason behind that...

Wasn't Igor Sikorsky of Polish descent? What about Chopin, Marie Curie, Lewandowski? Also bunch of Russian scientists and composers carried Polish surnames. There are influential Poles but even Russia is a less influential and successful than cultures you mentioned above. Eastern Europeans are just less influential than Western Europeans.

I don't really understand what you mean, because there are for ex. many important Polish writers or filmmakers (from Łódź cinema school, a reference).

Also, the famous Joseph Conrad was Polish but wrote in English.

A Polish American helped found Apple, Poles have an illustrious history in the U.S, but the majority are working class because they live in the Midwest, there isn't a whole lot of paths to the top in cities like Chicago.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.
