I'm a pre-law student, but history, genealogy, theology, and anthropology are kind of amateur hobbies of mine. I am primarily here to hone in on my knowledge and learn a few new things about European history and anthropology while I'm forced into COVID-19 lockdown-induced solitude. I've taken a couple of European history and anthropology classes but university lecturers are only willing to take these discussions so far before their narrative kicks in and you start hearing things like, "we share 99% of our DNA in common with a banana so genetics means nothing!" I've taken DNA tests to learn more about my ancestry and wish to learn more about what some of the subtleties of that information means and how it was determined. History and theology are definitely my strong suits! I'm an avid reader of anything written about European (particularly Norse) Mythology, European religious roots and paganism, European history (most things Iron Age-Medieval, but well-versed up to Present Era). I'm mainly into classical music and black/doom metal but can jam out to some post-punk, industrial, and 80's synthpop too. I consider myself a spiritual person and recently began connecting to my roots in practicing Germanic heathenism. I find the parallels between Roman, Hellenic religion, Dacian (Romanian) paganism, and Slavic paganism, namely in the similarity of most pre-Christian European pantheons, all too interesting.
Not sure what else to say! Look forward to being here!
