    Default Carpathid examples - new thread

    I apparently received that answer, when I wrote to the person from "HumanPhenotypes" (I won't post a photo, here), so tell me, what is exactly "Carpathid" and show me some examples e.g. post photos of people who look "carpathid".
    I suspect it's dinaro-alpine or something?

    Originally, "Carpathian" type was Dinarid with strong CM admixture (Coon compared them with Borreby and Brunn types) but modern "anthropologists" like creators of Humanphenotypes use that term for Dinaro-Alpines. So, if they classified you as such then you belong to this combination, most likely. Unfortunately, i can't think of any female example in this moment.

    Yes, and I always liked the "Carpathian" term, I think it is the best way to describe my father's phenotype.

    Absolutely. In fact, majority of west Balkan and Hungarian Dinarids could be classified as Carpathian type (only place where pure Dinarids can be found even today in bigger percentage is Albania). That's why Coon putted them in same category with Balkan Borreby type. And i'm not gonna lie, i think i could be described as such since my metrics are completely in borreby/brunn range. Look at examples:

    FIG. 1 (3 views). A Carpatho-Russian, or Ruthenian, from the Polish Carpathians. His tall stature, heavy bony structure, large face, etc., point to a basic relationship with the unreduced Upper Palaeolithic survivors of the northwest.

    FIG. 2 (3 views). A Montenegrin of aristocratic lineage; in the main an oversized, Upper Palaeolithic survivor, but brunet in pigmentation, like many of the Serbs to whom the Montenegrins are closely related, and who do not, as a rule, possess the over-sized characters of their mountain kinsmen.
    (Coon never visited Balkan countries except Albania and Montenegro, so his conclusions about rest of Balkanites are worthless).

    FIG.4 (1 view); An Albanian from Malsia ė Madhė, near the Montenegrin border.
    Carpathian=DinaroCM.

    Carphatid = Dinaro Alpine/Gorid and should peak in Romenia but is common also in Hungary, Poland etc. And btw propably nobody would use the term for French people who are Dinaric- Alpine mixes, but its pretty common there too.
    Carpathian Borreby from Coon is basically (Balkan) Borreby, but i havent seen many get posted from Poland here.
