Default Native French people from Gouy-Saint-André and Saint-Rémy-au-Bois, Picardie

Close cousins, natives of Gouy-Saint-André and Saint-Rémy-au-Bois, sent by a cousin (woman of 63 years old with genealogy, she is blond with blues eyes in her case) whose great-great-great-grandparents are shared in common on the side of her paternal line. We also share common ancestors (near, great-great-grands-parents, and more distant) on her maternal side.

They are all more or less cousin in some degre. Gouy-Saint-André is a village of 650 inhabitants, perhaps a little more or less at the time, and Saint-Rémy-au-Bois 200 inhabitants.

These people in the photos all come from Gouy-Saint-André and Saint-Rémy-au-Bois over the 600 years.

Quite light in general, got more pictures from the region? Alpine element is noticeable compared to England especially though they are not much darker.

Individuals do but they are just too light to pass as a group anywhere away from the Austrian border regions, as a group they probably pass better in Austria than Britain.

i disagree, its not always about how light/dark pigmented someone is. I do see some British like influences on some though like the Gentleman Nr. 7 or the last lady for example

I suppose in terms of facial features they are more similar to the N Italians, i just cannot see them passing as a group there really unless we are talking somewhere like Bolzano and even then the typically Dinaro Med types i think you encounter upto the Austrian border and in southern France are absent.

In general, people don't know what these people look like in these isolated villages that have not experienced any European or extra-European immigration, so that's why I took pictures of my cousins who have genealogy going back over the last 600 years (with many birth certificates, since I am in direct contact with this 63-year-old cousin, contact by email and telephone).

The pigmentation is variable, so I don't take that into account, especially as dark or even light chesnut hair can appear darker in black and white photos, even in old color photos from the 70s / 80s hair that are not light blonde tend to be darker than in reality.

Just as there are many people who have "mixed" eyes in her family (gray, chestnut or other), and when the eyes are not light blue, then they generally appear "dark" (which also depends on photo quality) on old photos.

Obviously, if you are English then these people will not appear to you to be close to Anglo-Saxons, whereas if you are French (even from the south-west or the center or even Alsace), these faces will be familiar to you; I myself sent these photos to several individuals native (totally) of different villages of France (center, southwest, northwest) and many told me that these faces were familiar to them.

Also, the faces of my friend's ancestors (half Venetian and half southwest France) from Venetia and Tarn (SouthWestern France) are closer to these native faces from northern France tawn than faces from Anglo-Saxon or Swedish or Russian or whatever. Without saying that they are identical, because there must sometimes be "selections" of traits according to the family.

For me, they are western European faces to which I am used, so in general these people have a "western European" appearance from my point of view as a person who has lived surrounded by natives (because even in the 2000s there was still a majority of native French in the villages where I lived).

Curly hair is pretty common on my dad's paternal side (which these people have close ancestors in common)

According to my cousin, most of these brothers and sisters have chesnut hair which has become darker and darker with age, some have blue eyes, others "mixed" (Myheritage's color is not the most realistic), most were born with blond hair.
