I don't view canary islands as Spain, the same way a modern native american view his region first as the land of his forefathers. Modern canarians descend from spanish settlers, they are not native of these islands (that's why many of them have some kind of identity crisis and tries to convince themselves that they are guanches).

In Gran canaria, tenerife or el hierro, I feel at home.

Nobody gives a shit of how you view it. Native or not, today inhabitants of Canary Islands are mostly ethnic Spaniards, and they are the the current owners of these islands. Canary islands belong to and always will be Spanish, whether you like it or not.

What you pretend is like pretending that today's US Americans don't belong to the North American continent, and it should be taken away from them. Ridiculous!

Spanish is the territory --the province of the Hispania Transfretana--, not the people within it; you're simply Moors or Moroccans or whatever, not Spaniards.

The Reconquista meant recovering the hispanic territory and either conversion or kicking out, Habibi Almibar....
