On the UK census I think Roma are white is that ok or legit? Or wrong?

In the UK, the census has white, but sub-categories. White British, White Other (like Polish or German), and finally White Traveller, Gypsy or Roma. While the Travellers are of Irish Origins and are indeed white, the Gypsies of the UK and the Roma from Eastern Europe trace their origins to Mother India, the Southasian Sub-Continent. On their travells, or by their migration route, starting around 1000 AD, they accumulated iranian, turkish, middle eastern, and greek ancestries. So do you think it is ok that they are white? Or they should be not white on the census?

Roma are put in the Gypsys & Travellers category, as both groups live similar lifestyles. Travellers are mostly Irish origin, but there has always been contact between both groups, hence the shared category

It depends on. North Europe Roma's and Irish Roma's are genetically and phenotypically mostly large Euro.

Usually gypsies are 1/3 euro 1/3 SA and 1/3ME. They look it too. Some look full on white, others look full on Persian or ME and some look Afghan or South Asian.
On Vahaduo, their closest non-gypsy population is Parsi_India which makes sense considering the ME and SA mix.

I don't think calling them white is accurate at all, as their DNA is largely mixed.
